Throughout scripture we are called to defend and uphold the poor and marginalised in society, and we are reminded that God is passionate about them. At first glance, this may not seem like an obvious priority for St. Sepulchre’s, as we are situated in one of the most affluent parts of the country – and yet that is precisely why we believe it is important we do develop a social action ministry.
The City is not only affluent, it is also hugely influential, and it is vital that it is fully engaged with all of society (and seen to be so). We want to be a catalyst for the engagement of the City with the poor and marginalised in our society.
We are lucky to have strong links with other nearby churches, and a number of members of our congregation are involved in their social action programmes.
